Val Fish peacefully joined our Heavenly Father losing her battle with Cancer at the age of 77 on November 29, 2017, surrounded by her daughters Sharon and Nancy.
Val was born to George V. and Mary E. Newcomer on February 29, 1940 in San Fernando, California. Val was raised in various cities in California due to the nature of her father's job. Val's professional career was driving a school bus for the City of Rosemead, California.
She Married Bud Wasson on March 9, 1958. Together they shared four children (Nancy, Norman, Rodger, and Sharon). Val took great joy in taking her family to their cabin they built in Lucerne Valley, California. She loved spending time with her family there enjoying rock climbing, motorcycle riding, skeet shooting, and archery. Val and Bud moved their family to Kooskia, Idaho in 1977. Val and Bud divorced in 1980. Val married Pete Jones and together they moved to Council, Idaho and lived there until Pete's death. Later Val met Keith Fish and were married in 1988 until Keith's death in 2009. Val continued to live in Council until her passing.
Val was preceded in death by her Parents, George and Mary Newcomer; Sister, Lois Hendren; Brother, Hubert McCulloch; and Son, Rodger Wasson.
Val is survived by her daughter Nancy Wadley and husband John of Nampa, Idaho; son Norman Wasson and wife Renate of Killeen, Texas; and daughter Sharon Ratcliffe and husband Dave of Pasco, Washington. Val has 13 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren.
Val was known for her love of panda bears and she enjoyed playing pool at the local tavern in Council, Idaho. Her loss has deeply saddened her family and friends, but we take comfort in that our lives were that much richer for knowing her.
The family is extremely grateful for the loving and wonderful care and friendships Val received while she was living in Council Idaho. A special thank you to Susan Korte, Sarah Ellis, and Danielle Kuhn for their help in the family's time of need.
Funeral Services for both Val and Keith will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the graveside in Kooskia, Idaho. Pastor David Hunt is officiating.
