Les Lytle

Les Lytle, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew and friend passed away at his home on February 7, 2017. Leslie (Les) Lytle was born on June 15th, 1952 to Lloyd and Loretta (McFeron) Lytle in Grangeville, Idaho. He was raised in Stites with his two brothers. He attended Stites/C.V. schools but quit early to pursue his life. He thought he was going to join the service with his buddy, Randy Pixley, but he could not pass the physical because of his asthma.
Les loved the outdoors (hunting and fishing) and looked forward to the annual cattle drive and spending time at Lytle Cow Camp. Les went to Pierce, stayed with his aunt and uncle, Joyce and Darrol Frazier, and worked in the woods. It was while working in the woods that he suffered a serious eye injury that required many surgeries to save his eye. He overcame his injury and met the love of his life, Pattie (York) Lytle, whom he married and Les embraced her children as his own.
Pattie got Les on the right track and he began work at Seuberts Crushing and worked there for several years. Unfortunately, Les was accident-prone and he suffered a severe accident at the crushing company, which shattered his leg and hip. Despite his many injuries, which eventually resulted in the loss of a limb, he was always a fighter. Les knew no stranger. His personality was big as life and his joyful belly laugh will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know him. Les could often be found with his buddies whether it be at the local fishing hole, Dales, or Tom Cats. He was always busy catching up on the local happenings, ensuring that everyone was informed.
Les was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Loretta Lytle.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Pattie, at their home in Stites, his two brothers, Leo (Marty) Lytle and Larry (Teresa) Lytle, sons Allen (Teresa) York, Bill York, and daughter Marjorie (Clay) Strong, Uncles Arden (Carol) Lytle, Floyd (Caroline) Lytle, and Aunts Joyce Frazier and Doris Jones. Les is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Ceremony of Life will be held at a later date. Les would like you to cast a hook and say a prayer at the "favorite" fishing hole.
