June Finney

September 8, 1930 — November 14, 2022

June Finney, age 92, went to the glorious Kingdom of Her God and Father on November 14, 2022. She was born September 8, 1930 to Charles and Clara (Ostlie) Brownson in Sacramento, Ca. After graduating from High School she moved with her family to Oregon where in 1954 she met and married Arthur Finney. They raised 4 children: Cheryl, Richard, Susan and Gwendolyn. She and her husband also cared for several foster children for a period of time while living in Spokane, Wa.

June loved her Lord and was ac5tive in her ministry as a youth and later as an adult she taught Sunday School, Bible School and Women’s Bible studies. She held various positions in Women’s Fellowship groups and for many years was a Sunday School Superintendent. She ministered in music, singing in choir, directing Sr. and Jr. choirs and playing the organ and piano for services. Her expertise was in finance and she held a number of positions in that field. Her interests included writing poetry, writing children stories, oil painting and music.

June referred to her life with Art as an exciting adventure having ministered with him for 9 years in Paupa New Guinea and on the island of Pohnpei where she served as treasurer of PATS High School. She always said that she loved the perpetual summer of the Pacific Islands. Her adventures also included touring Guam, Saipan, and Israel overseas. In America she travelled in Nv., Ak., Hi., Ca., Mt., S. Da., Mn., Wi., Il., Az., Ut., Tn., Ga., Wa., Or., Tx., Mo., Id., and D.C. She also fulfilled her position as Pastor’s wife in the areas and churches where her husband ministered.

Waiting to join her in Glory is her husband, Art, at home, her 3 children and her brother Vernon Brownson of Santa Rosa, Ca. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her are her parents, a son Samuel Scott Finney whom God took before he saw the light of day, a son, Richard Charles Finney, and a brother, Francis Brownson, who was killed in action during WW2.

She was a gentle person, a loving wife and mother, above all a woman given to Jesus Christ her Lord; whom her friends and family will miss.

“Look on me all you who pass…

As you are now so once was I.

As I am now so you will be…

Prepare, therefore to follow me.” (Anon)

And Jesus Christ is the one who said:

“I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

No one comes to the Father except by me.”
