Jean Rafael Funck 60, of Kamiah passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her home.
Jean was born January 31, 1957 in Basilan, Philippines to Leon Rafael and Antonia Derecho.
Jean was an account clerk for Weyerhaeuser Kennedy Bay when she met Jim Funck. They were married on June 14, 1989 in Sabah, Malaysia. It wasn't long after their daughter Tracy was born. The Funck family moved to the USA and settled in Kamiah, Idaho. While Jim worked at the Three Rivers Mill, Jean was very active in the community, making friends everywhere. Her infectious smile was overwhelming and would brighten up anyone's day. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Jean helped at the Crab Feed, Bingo & Bunco, and any other event that needed volunteers. Jean has worked at the Deli in Cloninger's Harvest Foods since 2005.
On December 12, 2006, her husband Jim passed away. She was also preceded in death by her dad, Leon Rafael, her mom, Antonia Derecho and a brother, Teddy Rafael.
She is survived by daughter Tracy Funck (Thomas Reilly) of Moscow, ID, step daughter Laura Auckland of Washington, sister Leticia (Hunt) Hatch of Kamiah, a niece Sabrina Hatch of Kamiah, a nephew Louis (Liz) Armstrong of Boise, a niece Mary Armstrong of Denver, CO, and many extended family in Malaysia and Minnesota. Jean touched so many lives. She is loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and the entire community.
We will Celebrate her life Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Kamiah, Idaho. Mass will be at 11:00 am. Following Mass, a covered dish dinner will be at The Life Center Church on Highway 12, towards Kooskia, Kamiah, Idaho.
