Donald Henry Beckman, 85, of Kamiah, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Born on June 4, 1941, Donald spent much of his life in Kamiah, where he graduated from Kamiah High School and built a life surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors. He valued the lifelong friendships and close relationships he developed within the community he called home.
An avid outdoorsman, Donald had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and exploring Idaho’s mountains and rivers. Some of his family’s fondest memories were made during summers spent around Newsome Creek, where he and his beloved wife, Tina (Faustina) Beckman, raised their sons with an appreciation for the outdoors and time spent together. After their children were grown, Donald and Tina continued sharing adventures, exploring new places, and enjoying the life they had built together.
Donald cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in watching his family grow and treasured the opportunities to share stories, experiences, and traditions with each generation.
A dedicated supporter of Kamiah High School athletics, particularly football and track and field, Donald remained involved with the programs throughout his life. In 2013, he was nominated for a Meritorious Award through Lewis-Clark State College’s Warrior Athletic Association. His Catholic faith was also an important part of his life, and he was a devoted member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kamiah.
Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Tina. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Beckman and Warren Beckman, along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
He will be remembered for his love of family, adventurous spirit, and the friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy lives on through the memories, traditions, and love he shared with those closest to him.
A traditional Catholic funeral service will be held Friday, November 13, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kamiah, Idaho. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service, concluding at approximately noon.
A celebration of life and meal will follow in the church’s parish hall. Family, friends, and neighbors are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Donald’s life.
