Barbara Ellen Baldwin (nee Saar), age 77, of Kamiah, Idaho, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. Born on July 26, 1946, in Roseburg, Oregon, Barbara was the daughter of the late Bernard Saar and Helen Wetherell.

Barbara's journey in life included many memorable moments with her beloved husband, Fred Eber Baldwin. The couple exchanged vows on December 26, 1969, in Roseburg, Oregon, and shared over five decades of marriage. Fred resides in Kamiah, Idaho, cherishing the beautiful memories they created together.

Barbara will always be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring daughter, and a loving mother. She had a special place in her heart for her close-knit family and was truly happiest when they were all together. Barbara's creative and whimsical nature shone through her passion for arts and crafts. She found joy in decorating her home and had an impeccable eye for design.

Barbara's free-spirited personality led her to explore various interests fearlessly. She loved trying new things and encouraged her children, Mathew Scott Baldwin and Kacie Lynn Baldwin, to embrace the same mindset. Barbara boasted about her children's accomplishments with immense pride, sharing their achievements with anyone who would lend an ear.

Family time spent outdoors was a cherished tradition for Barbara. They fondly reminisce about their summers camping and fishing along the West Fork of the Madison River in Montana. Barbara also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly the works of John Denver, which brought her much joy and inspiration.

Barbara's passion for education led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Oregon State University in 1968. She embarked on a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher, first in Hawaii and later in Beaverton, Oregon, and Nampa, Idaho. Her genuine love for children and her playful personality made her a beloved teacher among her students. She then transitioned into a Supervisor role at Head Start, where she continued to make a positive impact on the lives of many children.

In addition to her husband Fred, Barbara leaves behind her son Mathew Scott Baldwin and wife Kathyrn Miles of Seattle, Washington, and her daughter Kacie Lynn Baldwin and partner Matthew Slinger of Seattle, Washington. She will be deeply missed by her brother William Alfred Saar and wife Arlee Jensen Saar of Astoria, Oregon. Barbara also leaves behind her cherished nephews, David Saar (wife Johanna) and Eric Saar (wife Cherry).

Barbara's mischievous black cat, Sherman, brought countless laughs and unforgettable stories to her life. He was a constant source of amusement and added an extra dose of joy to their home.

Barbara was predeceased by her mother, Helen Agnes Saar Babbitt (nee Wetherell), and her father, Bernard Alfred Saar. Their loving presence will forever remain in her heart.

To celebrate Barbara's remarkable life, her family is planning a celebration of life ceremony in Kamiah during the spring of 2024. They also intend to honor her wishes by organizing a gathering to spread her ashes in Oregon during the summer of 2024.

Barbara's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her contagious laughter, her vibrant spirit, and her love for family and creativity will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who remember her. May she rest in eternal peace.
