Andy Bytheway

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Andronicus "Andy" Seth Bytheway, 22, who left us on July 20, 2026, in North Dakota peacefully in his sleep. Andy was born on February 27, 2004, in Idaho to Shane and Angela Bytheway. Andronicus was a bright and passionate young man whose life was marked by love, determination, and a quiet strength. 

In honor of Andy's life, funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at 10:00am at The Life Center.  

 
Andy graduated high school and found his calling working with his hands, where his strong work ethic shined brightly. Known for his resourcefulness and craftsmanship, he was always eager to build and create. His exciting pursuits included hunting and, more recently, fishing, where he found joy in nature. 4-wheeling with his brothers brought him immense joy, reminding us of his adventurous spirit. By age 22, he had built two homes for his family plus countless others for customers and was currently working on his days off to build him and his brothers' first homes. Andy was always the guy who showed up! Always lending a hand. Always smiling while doing it. "No problem" was what you'd often hear when thanking him. Andy's dream was to have all his brothers and sisters getting along eating good food and laughing, talking, and working together to build each other up. He wanted a wife and children someday. He wanted to see his siblings be successful, and he was happy to help them get there. 

 
Andy was known for his kind heart and gentle demeanor, making enduring friendships and cultivating a strong bond with his family, particularly with his big brother Zack, who was not only a sibling but also his dearest friend. Zack and Andy had an unbreakable bond that allowed Andy to model his life after Zack. Andy also enjoyed buying nicer faster versions of his brother Zack's trucks to try and make him jealous. Zack helped Andy get where he was going in life, so Andy made sure he returned the favor for Zack any chance he got because that is who Andy was. Andy always said, "because you would do it for me". Andy always took brotherhood to the next level for all his siblings. His faith and religious upbringing guided him, providing a foundation of strength and resilience that constructed his character.  

Andy left Idaho to go to work in the oil fields when he turned 21. He wanted to buy land and build a home for himself close to his brother Zack. They had plans to help each of their younger brothers to do the same, so he was spending every day off getting set up to give the "leg up" that he and Zack wanted to provide to their brothers. In less than one year of going to North Dakota, he had purchased his mountain acreage and by one year he had already started breaking ground to start construction. He was simultaneously helping Zack build his home and still doing all the little favors his sisters would ask for. Just days before he passed away, he had the trusses delivered to his property. He had just equipped himself with a third pickup. He and Zack had fully equipped a mechanic and carpentry shop, and he was JUST GETTING STARTED! Nobody could tell Andy "No". Andy was determined and dedicated to what he believed in. That was very simple for Andy, "be genuine and work". If you look through the pictures of Andy's life, you will see the proof of that. He was eating, sleeping, and working in almost every picture we have of him. Andy accomplished in one and half years what it takes some of us decades to do.  

He was a different kind of hero. Andy was needed and wanted by so many people of all ages. Andy loved babies and children. He was the best uncle to his nieces and nephews; he was the sweetest brother, an incredibly loyal friend, was a fun companion, a loving son, and Andy was just AMAZING. 

He will be deeply missed by us all! Renavigating without Andy is seemingly impossible right now. Our babies loved him! His brothers were his best friends. His brothers-in-law were his brothers. His sisters were friends, and friends were family with Andy. For some of us, Andy was everything.  

Andy was preceded in death by his grandmother Jodi Bytheway, and his loving brother Thomas Bytheway.  

He is survived by his loving mother, Angela Bytheway; father, Shane Bytheway; stepmother, Misty Bytheway; his cherished siblings: Zacharias (Zack), Stormy Gleason, Mary Leaton, Elisheba Wells Sanford, Abigail, Susanna, Chloe, Shirley, Ember, Annaleigh, Amos, Phinehas, William, and Sarah Bytheway; as well as his beloved grandparents, Bob and Mary Whitehead and Bert & Joyce Bytheway. His warm spirit will be dearly missed by his brothers-in-law, Larry Leaton, Sawyer Wells Sanford, Henry Ryals, 3 stepsiblings Elizabeth McDaniel, Genevieve Hirsch, and Gideon Hirsch as well as many nieces and nephews.  
 
As we mourn this devastating loss, we remember Andronicus not only for the life he lived but for the love he shared-a testament to his kind heart and gentle soul.
